A particular website sells ad space, and they charge a rate per 1000 impressions. What is the definition of an impression?

Thanks so much.

It varies from site to site, and you should check very thoroughly before spending any money. What you want are "unique impressions," i.e. possible views of your ad by different posters. Some sites will inflate their data -- an example of how that could be done would be the Rx, where a given ad might get 10 or 15x the number of overall impressions as unique impressions as posters go from page to page postingp icks, bitching in offshore, arguing in politics, etc. Legitimate ad figures should take that sort of thing into account and try to give you the best approximation of unique impressions per day for your ad money.

You might read commentary here and here. If you need a professionally-done banner for a very reasonable price, I've used WowBanners in the past and really liked their work.

I'm into some different things. Haven't really had a single front-runner "occupation" in a long time.
